Apart from football, lots of other famous Argentinian sporting activity is based around horses, with numerous horse racing venues and stadiums used for polo and pato - which is a game sort of like basketball on horseback.

The most famous of the horse racing tracks in Buenos Aires is the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo racetrack, and polo can be experienced in the Campo Argentino de Polo. Other sports that are popular in Buenos Aires include golf, tennis, basketball, rugby, field hockey, and cricket. One other famous sporting venue of note in the great city of Buenos Aires is the Oscar Gálvez car-racing track which hosted 20 editions of the Formula One Argentine Grand Prix between the years 1953 and 1998. Argentina is a city that is fanatical about sport, a case proved by the numerous amazing sporting venues and stadiums dotted throughout the city.
