SportAccord, brings representatives from the 100 International Sports Federations affiliated to GAISF (General Association of International Sports Federations), ASOIF (Association of Summer Olympic International Federations) and AIOWF (Association of the International Olympic Winter Sports Federations), as well as the International Olympic Committee Executive Board, together with senior executives from the global sports industry.
As such, its requirements for an online registration system were complex, encompassing:
- registration of different categories of delegates
- online payment of delagate fees
- hotel booking
- travel co-ordination
- publication of company and delegate information to various media
and management of the process by SportAccord in Switzerland, and the Beijing Local Organising Committee in China.
The sportcentric solution allows organisations to register delegates under a single online account, from which they can add further delegates, or make amendments to existing registrations.
The online registration system is closely integrated into the Sportaccord website, which is also powered by sportcentric. Organisations can upload and maintain their profile, which appears automatically on the site and which will be used in printed materials at the event. This eliminates the heavy workload of input and error-checking that existed when SportAccord had to process this information manually.
The system is entirely web-based, and the registration process is managed by SportAccord and the Beijing Local Organising Committee through a commen back-end management system. Email alerts notify them when new registrations or amendments are made, and pre-defined workflows make processing the registrations quick and simple.
